prompt: being in a crowd waiting

what begins as patience
turmoils into a rapid fire heartbeat
anticipating the final breath
I can finally breathe.

a single speck in a hoarde of sand dunes
an uncovered history there and gone
in an instant
as the passerbys pass by, toward another earth of speckled soil.

I watch winds whisk them away.
in a moment, and only a moment I needed
to understand my presence along the waves
a minuscule presence yet so significant.

soon, I breathe
a deep one out and in.

… … …

exceptional periods of waiting
call for existential prevalences of thought.
